Independence Garden, Tel Aviv-Yafo
Location
The project is situated in the southern part ofIndependence Garden in Tel Aviv, at a unique junction where the city, the park, and the sea converge. Over time, many layers of history have accumulated in this location, each telling different stories—some still remembered, while others have faded into obscurity.

The Independence Garden, an island of tranquility amidst the city's bustle, sits at Tel Aviv’s highest point, offering panoramic views westward to the sea and eastward to Yarkon Street and the city's heart.
We approached the project on two levels. From an urban perspective, we sought to address the challenge posed by Yarkon Street as an urban barrier, designing an inviting and communicative building that encourages pedestrian movement and reconnects the park with the city. On a historical level, we focused on the rich layers of the site's past, engaging in a dialogue that honors forgotten stories and historical depth through layered architecture. Beneath the surface, we designed a museum that tells the local story, while above it, residential spaces foster shared, ecological living. The rooftops are linked by a bridge, providing expansive views of both the sea and the uncovered archaeological finds, offering visitors a glimpse into the past and a vision of the future. Through this design, we aim to ensure that the lessons of history remain visible and continue to inspire future generations.
