The project was born from a personal experience of moving from the quiet neighborhood of Modi'in to the vibrant city of Tel Aviv, and from a sense of missing out—living in the city without truly feeling its pulse, without an authentic connection between the street and the place where one resides.
The core idea behind the design was to create a living space that blurs the boundaries between home and city, where living and the urban environment merge into a unified experience.
As part of the project, 120 residential units were designed in the area of the Khovshim parking lot in Tel Aviv, near the Carmel Market. This site is uniquely positioned at the intersection of three different urban fabrics, each disconnected from the other. The goal was to bridge these divided spaces, to create a new urban continuity, and allow residents to experience the city from within, not just as they pass through it.
The system we designed, which we called "the red system," is much more than just a movement network. It creates inviting spaces—pocket gardens, commercial areas, intimate public spaces—all built around the city's vibrant life, yet at the same time penetrating into the apartments themselves, blurring the line between what belongs to the public and what is private.

This system, with its play of heights and views, not only encourages movement and exploration but also invites people to pause, to stay, and to experience the moment. It is a space where the city doesn’t just flow by the home but becomes an integral part of life itself.
Instead of separating the city from the residence, our project aims to create a dialogue between them—a dynamic, multi-layered connection where the street and home intertwine, creating a holistic experience of urban living that gives new meaning to the concept of "living in the city."
